The Centre for Infocommunications Law organizes a conference on the changing role of public service media.
The role of public service media is currently in transformation in most of the European countries. Digitalisation and convergence as well as the increasing role of competition law in this sector led to significant changes in regulatory models. These changes concern both regulatory and business issues and consumer behaviour, too. On the conference leading international experts will analyse current issues of public service media and various regulatory models, as well specific issues will be addressed at the follow-up roundtable discussions with the inclusion of participants. Moreover, on the conference there will be a presentation of the findings of a CIL research project on “The Changing role of Public Service Broadcasting in light of Competition Law in the period of Digital Transformation”, financed by the Hungarian Competition Authority, Competition Culture Centre. An English summary of the research paper will be made available as well. This event addresses experts and researchers from several sectors such as the public service media, media regulation, state aid policy, competition law. The conference will take place at the Congress Hall of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Országház u. 28. |
